NATHAN CAFFLEY

During my final year studying a BA(Hons) Animation at UWE Bristol, I produced my own 2D Animated short film, 'Sentenced', a film depicting the soured friendship between two prison cell mates, that is all explained through a letter from one of them, to the other's wife.

I acted as the director, writer, producer, storyboard artist, visual designer, lead animator, and co-sound designer on this project.

 

The film was created with the help of a small team of animators, music by George Jackson and voice acting by seasoned scouse actor Ian Hart, best known for his roles in films like 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone', 'Escape from Pretoria' and 'The Hounds of Baskervilles'

This film was a huge undertaking, and was worked on from September 2024 until May 2025. This project taught me so many things about the animation pipeline, the value of time management, how to correspond with industry professionals in a professional manner and how to manage a small production team, as well as countless other things.
